Amanda Shaw is as good as it gets with the fiddle but don’t fall into the trap that she’s only a Cajun music performer. She does her own thing and mixes all genres together - it’s a perfect blend for New Orleans. Her skills are amazing but it’s her energy and joy which make her shows can’t-miss entertainment. Amazingly, she’s been performing for over 25 years (she started at 10).
“I don’t know if I consider myself a leader in the New Orleans music scene,” Shaw said. “There are so many amazing performers in New Orleans. I’m just a girl with my fiddle. I will say this much; there are incredible roots and soil here. It fuels so many other genres and people from all over. I’m proud to be part of this scene.”
In addition to her music, Shaw has established the Amanda Shaw Foundation, an organization dedicated to serving and supporting local families in the community. The foundation supports efforts to build, sustain and empower strong Louisiana families through music, food and culture.
