Sharon Martin

Sharon Martin is one of the most soulful voices on the New Orleans music scene. A regular at French Quarter Fest and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Fest through the years, she has also played all over the world. “Martin’s sass and humor augment her top-drawer musicianship,” reads the official New Orleans tourism website. She has played Billie Holiday in the stage performance of “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill,” has toured and performed with artists ranging from Joe Sample to Dave Bartholomew to  Deacon John to C. J. Chenier, and appeared in the HBO series “Treme.” She has won a slew of awards for her vocal prowess, and in addition to performing, can be found educating young musicians and fighting for voting rights.
