Chris Vincent & The Raw Deals
Updated: Jul 29
Chris Vincent is a New Orleans based songwriter and slide guitar player. He has a great bluesy sound – it kinda comes across as a little Tom Morello (Nightwatchman) singing, think it’s the story telling angle of it all. His drummer, Travis Marc, kills it and has fun doing it – they're known as Chris Vincent & The Raw Deals when rocking together. Both of them also work hard helping out other musicians - they're putting in every effort to build a great local music community. The last Tuesday of every month, they host a Songwriters Showcase at Banks Street Bar in Mid-City. Be sure to check it out.
In an interview with Blues.gr, Vincent said, “My sound/identity as a writer and musician has been influenced by blues, yes, but also by early jazz, swing, hard bop, even some early rock and roll.” Sounds right to me. Rock and roll. Music’s where it’s at.
